Tips on Locationary Geo Missions
Tips on Locationary Geo Missions
I noticed that the Geo Mission page comes out randomly (it's not consistent) from time to time and the automatic geo coding process also not consistent. The automatic geo coding process sometimes works and sometimes not.
Due to the above reasons, I immediately save a Geo Mission page if ever I had a chance to encounter one. In Firefox browser, just click "File" from the menu and then click "Save Page As...". Be sure to save the complete webpage.
This way everytime you login back to Locationary, you can just open the saved Geo Mission webpage and work manually the places without geo codes. Usually these places has some typos in the address that's why Locationary's system has a hard time geo coding it.

I want to tell you a true story about how, almost 30 years ago, a few companies in the United States took advantage of a legal loophole to create a billion dollar industry and why there's now an opportunity for you to make money because of it.

As a result, nobody had the full information anymore. But like with everything, someone's problem became an opportunity for others.
A few new companies figured out how to collect the full information again by taking advantage of a legal loophole. Normally, you can't copy another's information or content. People get sued for pirating music and movies, or photocopying books. However, the law didn't protect books of "facts". As a result, these new companies were legally allowed to copy the yellowpages directories (about 5200 in North America) and there was nothing AT&T or anyone else could do to stop them.
So fast-forward to today. Those directory copiers are now "the big three": Acxiom, Localeze and InfoUSA. They are huge companies that you've probably never heard of that sell this business data to everyone including Google Maps, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft, Yelp, and Yellowpages.com. I uncovered the big three when I was researching how Google Maps gets its information. I learned that the Internet companies keep buying this data because they need the full set of U.S. business information. Unfortunately, the data they're buying still mainly comes from the copied yellowpage directories. It's many months and even years old and not suitable for the 'real-time' nature of the Internet. We now live in a hyper-speed world where last week is ancient history.
